Grand Trunk Warehouse, Detroit

Shy of downtown, lies the rotting remains of the once powerful Grand Trunk Food & Cold Storage Warehouse, which in 2019 actually killed someone playing hide and seek. The building is divided into cold storage, dry storage, general storage and some office space.

This eerie structure had been claimed by Arte express, which has fallen under by now; no longer able to pay for their security, let anybody walk right in. That was the passenger elevator that goes to the offices.

This gaping basement-hole is pretty old, it could've come about to weathering, support removal, or heavy objects, the last place you'd expect a big hole is on the bottom floor.

Here is a room was on the second floor, a small, burnt up nook.

This curious structure was attached to the side of the boiler area, a large, windowless, single-story space. I really have no idea what it could possibly be for... maybe there were some ammonia pumps in there just like in the Detroit Harbor Terminals.

The boilers beneath were tucked into a small space in the basement, accessible by a tiny hallway, so not many people had found them. It also seems like the floor above was exposed, but that might've just been some roof monitors.

You could see about anywhere from the roof, which had flooded through all the wear and tear causing loads of water to come down the stairwell year-round. Climbing up the stairs was pretty nasty considering all the drainage was pouring down the stairwell instead of the outsides.
