Merkur Steel Processing, Detroit

The remnants of a large steel facility stood by Detroit's inner airport. The Airport Sub district has a few abandoned factories that predated the airport, and now sit along the edge. Sometime in the 80's the steel processing facility had an auction attempt by Detroit, but I do not know if anyone had bought the site.

As of now the only building left is the office.

There is a hill of dirt you'd climb before you can enter the building

The interior was extremely dusty. It was mostly intact, but walking through the space was just gritty.

I like to see windows that are still intact as well. This is why I liked the Cadillac Stamping Plant so much.

Around back was the chimney, cut short for the airport. The noise of the planes was deafening outside.

Some of the factory floor has remnants of machine mounts, this particular one had a pool of scum.
