Lefere Forge, Jackson

Since Jackson is part of a rust belt, it has seen no lack of abandoned factories, even as recent as 2018. This massive forge has a smokestack that you can see from any place if you look closely. Every piece of equipment has been removed though, and the first vandals have come.

If you search online you can see workers and what was going on there some years ago.

This is one of the small annex buildings, which has seen an invasion of forklifts and bucket-trucks. This building in particular smelled like tar.

I never stepped foot on the second floor, as this was a final stop in Jackson and I'd been there for a few hours.

Somebody decided this was their forklift dumping grounds. There were so many used hydraulics that I'd dubbed it as a graveyard.

And there's the excavator, an other hydraulic, with some taggers claiming it.

I did manage to get a pic of myself in there.

The company left behind some strange machines here. I have no clue what the hell this is even for.

I've seen a few of these, that's a centrifugal fan.

Never got to go inside the boiler room, which was the most disappointing part. This smokestack is around 100 feet tall I believe?

Part 2

The forge has changed a lot since last visit, many of the forklifts have moved around or disappeared. New equipment is lying around the back lot too.

Some wood blocks on the second floor

One window was missing, it gave a great view of the front lot

I remember there were showers down here, a break room, and even a broken pool table. There were also a bunch of mechanical bits and bobs in the shelves.

The break room was in the slanted building in this picture, I think the showers were parallel to it.

There is so much new, random junk that has been brought or left here

I climbed a ladder to view the main forge from above, it also shows the new machinery left here. That gantry was made by Detroit's Northern Crane, I've seen them in other abandoned buildings.

The building had filled with these seeds that travel by wind

Here is the cooling tower for the boiler building, I climbed it

I found a very tiny door that lead into the boiler building

There was one hidden room that was filled with expensive cars
